University of Delaware Professor John Junck had an interesting lecture about citizen science. It was in collaboration with Jon Cox. Just 10 minutes long, it’ll cover five ways citizen science can help a landscape — by celebrating history of people who lived here before us, by actively preserving the landscape, by conserving the area for human use, by remediating the site and by restoring to transform a site. Quite fascinating to see it laid out like this.

You’ll learn of several databases populated by citizens like you, such as Budburst, eBird, iNaturalist, JourneyNorth and FieldScope. FieldScope seemed to have a focus on the Delaware Bay Watershed and Chesapeake Bay Watershed.
